Built in 1931, The Grunow Memorial Medical Center is still an active medical clinic and is beautiful on both the inside and outsid

e. This Spanish Colonial Revival building has amazing detail outside and when you step inside, the open two story lobby has period correct furniture along with bas-relief facade etched stone carvings around the doors.  One of the paintings is of little Lois Anita Grunow who died at age 7 for whom the building was built for.

The Grunow Memorial Medical Center is part of the Phoenix register of historic buildings; located at 926 E. McDowell, Phoenix.  In 2010 it made the New Times list of Best Downtown Building to Poke your Head Into.

If you're into gruesome yet fascinating stories, this is where Winnie Ruth Judd, aka the Trunk Murderess, worked at the time when she murdered her two best friends.
